Principles we believe upon in our academy-
- Disciplines improves the presence of mind. Learning Gurbani Classical/Hindustani music requires a lot of training and patience. The practice of music improves your presence of mind. Singing requires you to stay in tune with the musicians, maintain a pitch and all this helps in improving the presence of mind.
-Learning Classical Music acts as a natural anti-depressant. Classical music has a calming effect, it is said to normalize the abnormal blood flow and make you feel at ease and more peaceful.
-Broadens communication skills. Learning how to sing or to play an instrument improves your listening skills. You listen to the beats more carefully, time yourself appropriately to make an impact when you raise your pitch and when you suddenly drop it. This practice in turn helps you to communicate better. Singing could even help you express your feelings better. In case you cannot speak about it, you could simply articulate it in a musical manner.
-Learning Hindustani Classical Music improves your memory. Studies have found that classical music enhances memory retrieval by reorganizing and creating pathways that were previously dormant.
-Helps in building perseverance. Learning music also teaches us the art to be persistent, not give in so easily to any kind of pressure, no matter how difficult a task may seem to be. In the end, it all turns out well. Patience, practice and perseverance are the three most important Ps of Gurbani classical music.
-Learning Classical Music acts as a catharsis. Music helps with the release of the bottled up feeling. Singing, which depicts emotions so perfectly alleviates our mood greatly after releasing all the withheld emotions.
-Learning music reduces stress levels. It helps to regulate the heartbeats to calm it down and singing helps to control the breath. Gurbani/Indian Classical music releases dopamine and serotonin and helps in balancing the levels of cortisol.
We follow Guru Shishya Parampara
Teacher-Student Lineage Tradition.
Guru — The Teacher.
Shishya — Student of a guru.
Parampara — An uninterrupted succession.
“Gu” means dark and “Ru” means light. So, “Guru” can be roughly translated as darkness to light, or possibly one who leads from darkness to light. The Guru is a teacher who guides the Shishya’s (student’s) life or a spiritual mentor who leads the shishya from blindness or ignorance to bliss, wisdom, and enlightenment.
Though we have entered into our new millennium, but our culture remains unforgotten. We can say that the Guru is the core of all the education, arts, culture and knowledge.
Since we are living in a modern era, we have access to various tools of science and technology, learning or teaching online is considered one of the best innovation in the field of education.
So if you are among the one who is still thinking about joining a class in music, wait no more. Join online music classes in any discipline you desire to learn, Gurbani Classical/ Hindustani classical or instrumental music.
